I wonder what James was doing here. There are 4 valid files and then nothing but empty entries. Did he remove the BLOCKS LEFT entry?

I can't take the credit, who ever did EOS7 removed it. It's just not needed. Load the Desk Top boot SmartBasic 1 with SmartDSK OS and check the catalog.

Hmmm I’ll have to look at it and see if I can determine how to detect the directory end

Look for a location that always has a 1 in it.

Did you figure out were the catalog end marker was?

I figured it out. For the end of a directory in EOS 7 the first unused entry is 11 nulls and ends with byte value of 1.
