Modifying the Coleco Internal Modem Into a Serial Card

Post by Milli » Sun Jun 07, 2020 8:04 am

Has anyone done this? I think I may give it a shot - I have a max232 floating around but maybe it isn't necessary if I connect directly to a TTL device.

If you decide to do it let me know how it goes. My quest to add a serial port to my Adam continues...

I have all the parts now just need to make a new phone cable. I have the AdamLink plugged into a externam modem on my PC to test that it works but the old cable is ruined. Once I am sure of that then I move to the next stage.

Has this project gone in a new direction? Just wondering based on the picture of (what I think were) WiFi modules that you posted on FB a while back.

My plans are to embed the WiFi inside of the AdamLink modem and to boost the AdamLink to 1200 baud. I have to dig in my storage for a driver disk for my pc modem. I need to test and verify that the AdamLink is working first before I start hacking.

Very cool. I was hoping you might say something like that! If it works do you think you might sell some or offer a conversion service?
